Located in Hess Village, this hip venue was once a Synagogue and Christian Church at the same time.
Originally built in 1915, The ‘Gogue opened in the summer of 2018 and has since become a destination for community events, from pottery shows and art exhibits, to release parties and live music. Owned and managed by proudly-Hamilton couple Bianca Marijan and Rob Reid, The ‘Gogue aims to connect the community through engagement with local culture.
The ‘Gogue’s interior, decorated by the two, reflects both the eccentric community it belongs to and the history of the building itself. The pair have scattered their own collection of art throughout, as well as personal family artifacts that give the space a sense of domesticity. Original works, from the building’s days as a place of worship, line the upper walls and ceiling.
