About the Artists
Jeff Smith is a skilled craftsman in metal sculpture and blacksmithing. He founded Hammersmith Metal Works in 2007 after 25 years as a graphic designer.
Jeff studied at the Haliburton School of the Arts and with Thak Ironworks in Floridale, ON. He was initially drawn to steel, due to its malleable, plastic and forgiving nature. He continues to explore traditional metalworking techniques to create pieces with shape, texture and depth the same way a clay sculptor would use his hands. His studio is among the freshwater spring & rolling hills of Mulmur, Ontario.
Cindy Benko is a painter and potter from Simcoe, Ontario. Cindy’s studio is surrounded by a pine forest, where the sights and sounds of nature inspire her and allow her to create in a very natural and authentic way.
Absolute Whores is a constantly morphing social experiment with its roots in Roots and its head in the ether.
